Stolen Children And ABDUCTION!

Have you ever heard of the author, Peg Kehret? Well let me be the first to tell you that she’s spectacular at writing mysteries. She wrote these two amazing books, ABDUCTION! (right) and Stolen Children (left). In the book, ABDUCTION!, a boy named Matt Sholter never knew his father. Not even in picture. Not until the afternoon he went missing by his father, Denny Thurman from a bathroom trip. No one notice he was missing until Bonnie Sholter, Matt’s sister, notice Matt wasn’t on the bus. She and the school teachers check through the whole school and Matt wasn’t found. Meanwhile, Matt was in the car with his father after being lured into the car by his dog, Pookie, was headed to Denny’s apartment. Matt thought he was heading to the vet for Pookie's illness. As they headed home Denny forgot Matt needed to use the bathroom. So he found a place that had a bathroom. When Matt came out and climbed into the car, Pookie left tied to a post purposely. After searching the school Bonnie and Matt’s mother, Mrs. Sholter got there. Denny has disguised as an UPS worker and held a box and a clipboard supposedly to mail the box to the library, but went to look for his son. The woman at the desk, Mrs. William, didn’t notice whether he signed back out and return the visitors badge. Denny kept the boy for over a week. Denny watched movies and gambled on boxers and race horses. Denny also tried to show Matt how to play the P.S.3; he got angry when Matt could not play correctly. So he played it himself. Meanwhile, Mrs. Sholter tried to help Officer Calvin to get clues. As Bonnie and Mrs. Sholter got home, Officer Calvin introduced Detective Morrison and her canine partner. Mrs. Sholter ordered Bonnie to lock up the kitchen just in case Pookie smelled the canine. As Bonnie looked, Pookie was nowhere to be found. Now a child and a dog are now missing. Meanwhile, Pookie was found by an elderly couple who called him Monty since he didn’t have his collar. Bonnie and Mrs. Sholter got help by neighbors, including neighbors they didn’t even know, helped out putting posters of Matt. People help out by bring them food or making food in their own house knowing that Mrs. Sholter was stressed out. Out of the blue, Mrs. Sholter’s boss offered $10,000 for the information that leads to the safe return of Matt. Amber Alert was used and the news reporters were outside bugging around. Eight days later, on Saturday, Denny got some tickets to the Pirates baseball game for Matt. Denny had planned to visit his sister, Celia, and his brother-in-law, Winston, to show off his son Matt but as in Travis. At the same time, Bonnie’s track team went to the same game; Bonnie thought it wasn’t right to go have fun while Matt was still abducted. By the 6^th inning in the game, Bonnie spotted a boy that did the same gestures as Matt; the boy looked different, he had black hair and glasses. But then Bonnie remembered Detective Morrison say the abductor might change the physical feature of Matt. She still went to investigate herself. Denny was having some problems about owing money. He got a phone call saying he had a deadline to pay the debt. So he left the game so that he could ask his sister for money. As they left Bonnie caught up with them, and Denny took her, warning her not to scream; he had a gun. On the way to the car, Matt was in need to use the bathroom. They went inside a restaurant and ask to use the bathroom. Bonnie and Matt went into the woman’s restroom and she attempted her escape with her brother. Her attempted failed when she tried to flag down a car. Denny stopped her and act like their father and scared the driver away. Later on, they took a taxi to the ferry to get to his sister. During the ride, Bonnie told Denny that she will tell his sister everything that’s happening if he doesn’t let her go. So he decides to shoot her. Meanwhile Detective Morrison was asking questions to Bonnie's track team. Matt throws the ball at him before Denny could shoot Bonnie. It hits him on the neck causing him to drop the gun and fall. Bonnie immediately grabs the gun and throws it over board while Matt starts screaming for help. The ferry workers and the other adult s hurried to their aid and took Denny down. As they got to shore, police came aboard and arrested Denny. Bonnie and Matt got home safely. And then everybody was happy. In the book of Stolen Children, a girl got kidnapped with her babysitter, Amy by 2 armed men. The purpose of kidnapping Kendra was to get a ransom after five days of keeping Kendra hostage. They didn’t know Amy was going to be there to babysit Kendra, so they took Amy just in case she calls the police. Every day the kidnappers, Hugh and Smokey, would take videos of Amy and Kendra so that their parents could get more anxious about getting their children back. At the fifth day of the being kidnapped, Smokey took a video of Kendra sleeping and announced the ransom of five hundred thousand dollars. After the announcement, Smokey stop recording and put DVD in an envelope and went to mail the DVD. At the afternoon, when Smokey came back, Hugh started a big argument about a missing gun, when Amy dropped it in the toilet of the outhouse. When Smokey left the engine running, Amy got in the car with Kendra and drove away. The car stopped before it got to the main road but far enough to be away from Smokey and Hugh. The thing left to honk the horn and wave their hands in case helicopter or a car past by. In less than second a helicopter saw her and they called the Detective Rockford and came to her aid in minutes. Smokey and Hugh were arrested immediately. After that Amy and Kendra went home with Detective Rockford. Kendra’s nanny, Darielle Monroe, was also arrested for planning the kidnapping. Later, during the reunion of Amy and Kendra with their parents, Kendra’s mother, Mrs. Edgerton offered Amy to be full time baby-sitter. She gladly accepted the offer. She knew her dad would be proud of her.

Scat

Nick Waters and Marta Gonzalez is student of a private school call Truman School. One day, the school took a trip to Black Vine swamp. The swamp was set on fire by a company call Red Diamond Energy (RDE) on purpose. But nobody knows who did it or how it happened. Since R.D.E. was doing illegal oil drilling on illegal land, they did not want to get seen so they burned the swamp. This girl called Libby lost her inhaler, so Mrs. Starch went back to the swamp to retrieve the inhaler. Mrs. Starch was known as a witch. The day before the field trip, she humiliated a kid, Duane scrods in, in front of the whole class. She told Duane to do a 500 word essay about pimples for not knowing the Calvin cycle. Since Mrs. Starch kept sticking her pencil in his face, Duane got mad that he chopped off ½ of her pencil and he ate it. So after the witch went back to the swamp, she was never seen again. A couple says later, the head master, Dr. Dressler announced that Mrs. Starch was out on a “Family Emergency.” Nick and Marta did not believe it. So they snuck in the house of their biology teacher. They were looking for clues until they saw someone coming. So they hid in a trunk. Unfortunately, for them Marta made some noise that alerted the man in the house. The man call Twilly said to not come to Mrs. Starch’s house and that she is fire. During that day the biology teacher was not there, a legendary wacko, Dr. Wendell Waxmo was substituting for only one reason: to get Mrs. Starch back in business. While he was teaching, he would humiliate the children. He would make them sing dumb songs. Until one day, Nick was up to sing but he was not in the mood. Later that day Twilly showed up in his house. Twilly told Dr. Waxmo to resign because the witch didn’t want him to teach dumbly and humiliate the children. One day Marta and Nick saw the car of Mrs. Starch since they didn’t believe in anything of what the voicemail or the letter says, they decided to jump in to get some answers. Twilly didn’t know they were there until they started speaking. So Twilly decided to say what he was doing with the witch. When they got to the location, Mrs. Starch was surprise and began to explain everything. That same moment Duane was chase by the police. They think he started the arson in Black Vine Swamp. But he has been frame by the Red Diamond Energy Corp. Duane would never do that, he loved the wilderness. All this time Mrs. Starch had been taking care of a baby panther. That wasn’t really the problem. The problem was that the baby panther was going to die if it didn’t find its mother. Twilly been trying to find the mother and fix things. But Red Diamond Energy was messing it up. The next day, they decided to go find the mother. And they did. Mrs. Starch got sent early to the hospital with the help of Duane and Twilly because she got shot in the leg. RDE got arrested for doing that and got busted of illegal oil drilling. Later, Nick got sent to the hospital for breaking his arm. Nick had jump a long way down from the tree. Thats when the baby panther was given back to it mother everything went back to normal with a few changes. Duane came back neat and normal. Mrs. Starch and Nick came back but hurt. A kid called Graham now has the answer when he raises his hand.

Extra Credit

A 6^th grade girl named Abby Carson live in a flat farm land with her mom and dad who own land that stenches up to 67 acres. Abby does not even like where she lives because it is so flat and not mountainous. All she thinks is about rock climbing and she doesn’t even think about her academic classes. She has low grades in her academic – even lower than an average grade. One morning in February after a gym class of climbing on the rock wall and imagining it is a huge mountain, Abby got sent to her school guidance counselor to talk about Abby's grades. Mrs. Carmody said she was going repeat 6^th grade and that was for Abby’s own good. Later that day she went to go confront her parents about the bad news. They were angry; they made her do her homework immediately. The next day, Abby went to her teacher to see if they could help her. They said Abby had to be a solid b student from now on until the end of the year. She also had to do an extra credit assignment. That was to do a project pen pal who had a different way of living. She choose her pen pal to be from Kabul, Afghanistan because had huge mountains. Sadeed Bayat is a boy that lives in a town near Kabul, Afghanistan where the mountains are. Sadeed is one of the best English writer and reader. The 2^nd week of March, Sadeeds school got a letter from an American girls named Abby Carson. His father and his school decided to meet in a reunion to discuss about which student would write back to the girl. They said Sadeed, but he was a boy. It is not right in his culture for a boy to have a connection with a girl. So they decided Sadeed's sister, Amira Bayat, to correspond to the girl. But Sadeed had to do the writing because he knew how to writing English better than his sister. As Amira and Sadeed talk to Abby through letters learning about each other lands and lives, they didn’t notice people started to get upset. Abby put up the afghan flag which was part of her project. A student looked at the flag and started to wonder about it. The student search it up and found things that were very disturbing and made the student feel uncomfortable. Later on, the teacher took down the flag because of that complain. Meanwhile in Afghanistan, Sadeed went to go to read the letter that Abby wrote to them in the streets alone. A man came up to Sadeed and saw the envelope with 3 stamps of the American flag. This upset the man and took the envelope away from Sadeed. Unfortunately, he ripped the letter because most Afghans don’t like the Americans. So Sadeed ran away with the ripped pieces to tell the school. So they decided not to write anymore letter to upset anybody else. At the end of the year, Abby gave her project pen pal presentation. Later on, Abby got a final letter from Sadeed explaining why the letters had to stop flowing back and forth. After those letters Abby and Sadeed understood how lucky they were live in the place they live in.

Deep Down Popular

On girl in sixth grade is called Jessie Lou Ferguson is in love with a boy call Conrad Parker Smith. Conrad is a popular boy in his town along with his other popular friends. One day, Conrad hurts his leg badly and Jessie Lou is supposed to take him home. Since Conrad can’t keep up his with popular friends he starts hanging out with Jessie Lou and a 4^th grade called Quentin Duster. Each day Jessie Lou hangs out with Conrad and Quentin, she feels more and more connected to Conrad. Everything changed when Conrad goes to take an operation on his leg. Conrad gets a special doctor from Washington D.C., who is supposed to perform his new technique on Conrad. A few days later Conrad and the special doctor, Dr. Jerome Wildy is on the television because of the new technique Dr. Wildy had just developed. Pretty much Conrad got something more than being popular. It’s FAMOUS. Jessie Lou felt like she was losing Conrad. Since Conrad was coming back with more popularity than ever, it was pretty much impossible to get near him. On the day of the 6^th grade graduation dance, surprisingly, Conrad asks out Jessie Lou to go with him to the dance. So they went together and had fun. Later on, Conrad, Jessie Lou and Quentin, planted dried tulips seeds. As the weeks passed by, the tulips started to grow until the field was full of redness. Then they notice life was short and too beautiful to be wasted.

The Red Pyramid AND The Throne of Fire

Sadie Kane and Carter Kane are magicians without knowledge of their own powers and magic. Everything changed on the day when their father got abducted by a red guy. The next day, the police came to the house of their grandparents to ask some questions about the explosion in the museum. After that, their Uncle Amos came and took them to Brooklyn to live with him. When they got there, they learned that the red guy was a god called Set. He had been unleashed along with 4 other gods – Osiris, Isis, Horus and Nephthys by Julius Kane, father of Carter and Sadie. Now that the gods are waking, Set is up to an evil plan. It’s up to the Kanes to stop him. Unfortunately, for Set, they do stop him. But they had to go through a lot of trouble just to get to the Red Pyramid. The Kanes had to pass the First Nome, the main House of Life; they take the Kanes as enemies. At the end, the Kanes found out Amos was hosting the spirit of Set, who also was being used by the Chaos serpent, Apophis. Apophis is breaking free from its cage. In the second book, The Throne of Fire, Carter has a dream where the war god, Horus, tells him the world is going to end in five days and tells him where an artifact is located. Carter realizes he must choose between gods that rules now or Ra, who is the center of Ma’at which balances with Chaos. Carter went for Ra knowing that he may be old and weak but he thought that was his only chance. So they went to the Brooklyn museum to retrieve the first part of the scroll. Unfortunately for Sadie, the scroll and her hand was on fire. The next day, Carter decided to start looking for the other scrolls to complete the Book of Ra. Unfortunately, for Carter, they didn’t. Since it was Sadie’s birthday, Sadie decided to go visit London. Sadie got a real surprise when she got there. The vulture goddess and the baboon god was hosting in the bodies of her grandparents. They want to kill and see if she was worthy enough to wake up the Ra. Fortunately, Bast’s friend, Bes, the dwarf god, got there just in time to Sadie and her grandparents. Unfortunately, for Carter and his friend, Walt, got there after the fight thinking that Bes was abducting Sadie. Bes took them to Russia to get the second scroll to the Book of Ra. At first, it seemed so easy. All they did was run in private territory that belongs to the 3^rd most powerful magician, Menshikov. They took the scroll from him and ran out. Unfortunately, for them and mostly Carter, they got attacked by a 2 headed serpent in shape of a U and Carter got poisoned. He was to die in 12 hours. At the last minute Sadie saved Carter with using his secret name. Then they decided on whether to continue to find the Book of Ra or to find a girl called Zia. Then they decided that Sadie and Walt would search for the 3^rd part of the Book of Ra in a place called Bahirya. Carter and Bes would search for Zia in her own town that was destroyed, Al-Hamrah Makan, The Place of the Red Sands. Both things were done in a day. Sadie and Walt completed the Book of Ra with a few problems with mummies. They wanted to use the knife Sadie had to open their mouths. Meanwhile Carter and Bes had convinced Zia to go with them with a few problems. As soon as they got there, they got attacked by water demons. As soon as Zia woke up, the Chief Lector and Menshikov were waiting for them ashore. After that they all met up again in Cairo. Then they decided that Zia and Walt would go to the Brooklyn House to protect it. Bes would also accompany them and then meet with the Kanes at the 4^th House. The Kanes would go to the Duat to find Ra. When they got to the 4^th House, they went looking for Ra and found him. Then they ran all the way to the 8^th House, but it was too late. They only got to the 7^th House because the 8^th House gates were closed. They play a game called senet against the moon god to gain 3 extra hours to get through the 8^th House. They won all 3 hours but the Bes ren got devoured by the moon god. They got passed by 8^th House and got to the place to find the 3^rd personality of Ra. Also it was the entrance to Apophis cage. Desjardins gets there just in time to stop Menshikov who has Apophis in him and execrate him. They got out of the Duat in time to tell everyone, including the invaders, that the path of the gods is the way to survive. Apophis will not be gone for long.

The Lost Hero

The First Great Prophecy has passed and now there is a Second Great Prophecy. But this Prophecy is really bad and it is a threat that is greater then the gods and the titans. Jason, Leo and Piper are on a quest to find a missing demigod. No one knows where he has gone to or is. It up to the three demigods to find him and the rest of the demigods to let the prophecy begin. Also the goddess Hera has been captured and by something evil and unknown. To find their friend they must first help Hera. Will they succeed to save Hera and the missing demigod?

Percy Jackson has survived carrying the titan's curse. Now he is back at the camp, walking around in the woods and enters a cave for 5 minutes. At first they do not know what it is until they come and see campers looking for them and saying they were missing for almost an hour. That's when they notice that it is an entrance to the Labyrinth. Now Percy and his friends are on a quest to find Daedalus to find out how to block the entrance of the Labyrinth from letting Kronos's forces coming in and to destroy the camp.
After the battle at the Labyrinth, Camp Half-bloods army is now ready  to face the forces of Kronos. The demigods fight a fierce battle against Kronos while the gods tries to take down the destructive monster, Typhon. The only god who could defeat Typhon is Poseidon. But  Poseidon is also fighting his own battle against Oceanus who is creating a distraction. Will the gods and the demigods survive? Who will rule the universe?
